Not the best site in the world, but I got monero, so I can't complain all that much
Good service also I appreciate general reviews from other platforms too
Refund STATUS:
In my case I received back 2.55 XMR of outstanding 3 XMR. So indeed 'overt_gebling_877' paid back some amount. However, if he goes on full display stating that all customers of his platform have been made whole that is a lie.
I gave a refund address in September, but at first received only 1 XMR. Shortly after that they asked me to give another refund address to send the outstanding 2 XMR. Due to my inactivity on the platform I only reacted 2 months later. Meanwhile Monero price started to rise and the site operator tried to argue that they only can refund the USD equivalent not the XMR.
I then offered him to donate the remaining 0.45 XMR to a Monero development project of my or his choice without success.
OM might not be a scam, but they do not care for their reputation either.
Refund Status Notice: Refunds totaling 18.0261 XMR were completed in November, bringing the overall refunded amount to 75.2661 XMR. At this point, all affected funds have been fully returned, marking 100% completion of the refund process.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this period. Our focus remains on strengthening OpenMonero and continuing to improve the platform for the community.
Refund Process Update
An additional 16.1227 XMR was refunded in November, increasing the total refunded amount to 73.36 XMR. With about 94% of the affected funds already returned to affected users and vendors, the refund process is now close to completion.
Remaining refunds are underway, and more updates will be shared soon. Given the substantial progress achieved we kindly request that the red warning banner be removed, as the majority of affected funds have already been refunded.
Thank you for your patience as we continue working toward making OpenMonero a dependable and trusted P2P platform.
An update about the refund process, 12.24 xmr has been refunded this month, making it a total of 57.24 xmr that has been refunded, the refund process is almost complete as most of the users have been refunded, more to come, stay calm and stay chilled
OpenMonero is shady, losing user funds for the second time in a year is a brutal reminder that trusting your coins to any third-party platform is just asking for trouble seriously, do not use Openmonero if you care about your money
Openmonero has been open and transparent, Openmonero didn’t lose user funds asides the hack issue, get your facts right. Openmonero is the closest option to getting a seamless way to buy and sell monero. Also, Openmonero has refunded almost all the affected users during the hack, the refund process is still ongoing and it will be completed soon
Openmonero has been keeping its promise about refunding. 17.2xmr was refunded this month to the affected users.
Out of 78xmr that was lost in the hack, Openmonero has successfully refunded over 45 xmr.
Most of the vendors have been refunded and the rest will be refunded in the coming month, if you’ve not received yet, stay chilled and stay calm and watch out for it in the coming months. Openmonero is here to stay !
In light of the recent OpenMonero security incident that led to a loss of 78 XMR, the team has demonstrated their commitment to restoring user trust and making affected users whole. An initial 11.13 XMR was refunded to vendors immediately after the hack, with an additional 17.3 XMR confirmed and distributed this month, bringing the total refunded to 28.4 XMR so far. Refunds to the remaining users (49.57 XMR) will continue gradually, as promised. We sincerely thank everyone for their patience. OpenMonero is here to stay!!
If we all remember, Openmonero made a promise to refund all the users that were affected during the hack, Openmonero has successfully refunded up to 17 xmr this month to the affected users, making a total of 27xmr that has been refunded in total.Openmonero has been very plain in their dealings and more users will be refunded in the coming months, stay calm and anticipate
Today get back my lost XMR after site hack. Wasn't big amount but happy anyway. Don't understand why so much hate on this site.
Does kycnot see real consequence making decisions? See what happens! See if you get spam facts from counterparty? Consequences!
KYCNotMe admin supports this scam by still allowing OpenMonero ads, KYCNotMe guilty too.
You lost trust by hiding proof and dodging questions.
Users lost XMR to your exit scam! You covered up hacks instead of fixing security.
OpenMonero is a SCAM and plagiarized branding to deceive.
OpenMonero has not conducted any exit scam, and all transactions remain transparent and verifiable on openmonero.com/markets. No hacks were covered up,refunds are ongoing, security improvements are ongoing, and issues are addressed openly.
We don't support anything. This is a community-contributed service with a clear banner stating it hasn't been reviewed. It doesn't appear in search results or the main list unless users enable the "Community contributed" filter. We've maintained an alert event on OpenMonero since the reported issues began.
A total of 78 XMR (approximately $25,000 USD) was lost in scam. The official website’s red warning was removed even though not all users have been refunded. They appear to be targeting new victims, so it’s best to stay far away from this service. The site admin has a poor reputation on Bitcointalk and is considered incompetent, making unfounded claims. Avoid this service at all costs.
Interface could be improved, there are quite a few typos as well. While decentralized P2P is certainly better, this site still functions fine, and I was able to sell almost 1 XMR.
If they refund all the users then we should remove the red tags or at least change them to neutral.
Reliable service ❤️ check t.me/p2p_monero_talk for proof of refunds
I decided not to waste any more of my time on it, actions speak louder than words and from what I have seen, your actions speak volumes.
I don't see a thread on this supposed hack with supporting evidence and you deleting threads is a immediate RED FLAG in my eyes.
SCAMMERS cover up and try to hide their actions so whether you pulled an exit scam or not no longer matters in my mind.
Your actions of covering up, not being transparent as you claim to be and instead attack another project just proves to me your a scammer.

We appreciate the feedback and understand the concerns raised. Regarding the recent incident, we want to reassure our users that about 11 individuals have already been refunded, and we’re actively processing reimbursements for the remaining affected users. We take security and transparency very seriously, and we're committed to making things right. Thank you for your patience and continued trust as we work to strengthen the platform for everyone.
Added context: Rating disabled, makes no sense whith this comment.
OpenMonero is shady. They're using LocalMonero's name for promotional purposes without legitimacy, and have done plagiarism by copying the content + style of eXch's ANN. Looking at the ANN and their Terms of Use more deeply, we can also find contradictions. This service should be avoided!
Added context: The rating is disabled because, while user raises valid concerns, seems not have had any personal negative experience with the service or tested it.
I've noticed that your baseless comment was just copied and pasted from the trust entry on Bitcointalk, and it looks like no research or review was done before posting.
Also, the first thread in the "Service Announcement" section was permanently removed by the bitcointalk mods after the author used a similar BBCode format to the exch.cx ANN thread. It was fixed quickly after a user pointed it out, but it still got taken down. Cached thread: ninjastic.space/topic/5522702
Avoid using this service. Due to a hack, I lost 2 XMR, and I received no compensation. The admin removed any notices about the issue from the site and is ignoring the situation. Stay away.
What is your username on the platform? The admin will check your account and send you a partial refund. Normal users have to wait, since vendors are first on the list. If you have no patience, you shouldn't use p2p platforms in the first place. I have to assume that you are a spammer if you don't share your username.
This is not true. Yes, it's correct that the funds were hacked, but the admin is actively trying to refund all users. I have already received my refund, and the admin will continue refunding other users and vendors gradually as the website earns profit from trading fees. This person is spreading false information. My username on OpenMonero is: Tamshal, and I am a vendor who got refunded by the admin. ❤️
Looks like you're spreading false info on purpose. The admin already refunded most vendors on July 18 (check t.me/p2p_monero_talk for proof).
There’s a big notice on the front page (see the latest news), and logged-in users can see a notification at the top of every page with the amount that’ll be refunded.
If you’re not a popular vendor, you just need to be patient.
had a good experience overall. trader used a different currency than expected and the xmr amount was lower in the end, but both trader and customer support worked well with me despite transfer delays.
Great user experience (clone of the OG LocalMonero), fast support.
Doing multiple trades on the platform as seller and buyer, it works great. Same as localmonero did. Thanks for the good service.
Added context: The user has provided a trade URL but we can't verify it because access is restricted.
Reliable service , no substantiated reports of the site being a scam .... Everything works fine even after the recent hacking incident.... Arbitrator is working really hard to make users whole.
getting hacked and losing all user funds is a brutal reminder that trusting your coins to any third-party platform is just asking for trouble seriously, do not use custodial services if you care about your money!
I am a verified vendor on Openmonero.com. I was never asked for any KYC. This platform is so far one of the best to have ever worked with despite the recent hack challenge that I hope will be sorted out soon. In fact, the terms of service have been updated recently on the platform.
Added context: Comment states their profile as proof: https://openmonero.com/user/Lyd
Trade went through. Received the Monero and all is well. Not a scam and it was possible to do everything on the platform anonymously: No sensitive data required for an account or the trade
seller sent wrong wallet address, managed to get admins to step in and confirm the transaction anyway. took about 48 hours. can't fault this as I did get what I paid for and they were responsive.
