About GPDR, you are mistaken, it does not protect information if you are committing crimes. As stated in our FAQ and in our terms of service, "Logs kept at Trocador are never sold or ceded to third parties and are only provided on an individual basis upon request from law enforcement". These logs are kept with a strict retention policy as a requirement by our listed providers, according to their compliance requirements. This requirement by any given provider is explicitly mentioned to all users BEFORE they initiate their transaction, and before any record is made. Furthermore, a big part of transaction data kept by us (like addresses) is automatically deleted after 14 days or can be deleted by users even sooner, further providing avenues for enhanced privacy.

You can rest assured that's exactly our policy as well. However, we reserve the right to do it differently depending on the severity of the case, for example stolen funds or payments involved with child trafficking, etc.

Regarding this particular claim, it seems whoever came up with it misunderstands how IP addresses work. It makes no sense to relate transaction to an IP range. In the era of VPNs and ISPs providing dynamic IP addresses to consumers, a single IP address can be connected to several hundred unrelated individuals. An IP range could likely be connected to thousands of different individuals. Requesting (or providing) an entire IP range connection data would therefore make no sense. These logs are kept with a strict retention policy as a requirement by our listed providers, according to their compliance requirements. Furthermore, transaction data can be deleted by users at any time, further providing avenues for enhanced privacy. If a user is not involved in illicit activities, it is extremely unlikely law enforcement would investigate any of their transactions, and they would not request information from the exchange provider chosen to fulfill the transaction. We do not condone the use of our platform to facilitate illicit activities. We don't ask for blind trust, we have a proven and reliable service that has been providing a valuable resource to the Monero community for many years.
