I've used them for years, no issues. Interface is a little dated, and clunky to disable an alias. Biggest drawback is that some services don't accept emails with their domains, but that's not SimpleLogin's fault.

Proton was the first VPN I ever used (besides from building my own private ones). Can't go wrong with them! Highly recommended, except in censorship-heavy regions (e.g. Russia). Last year (2024), Proton worked fine in Moscow, but after around summer of 2025, hardly any endpoints worked. Clearly, they have blocked a lot of Proton's IPs, so it's no fault of Proton's, but it is what it is...

I used Amnezia in Russia in September 2025 and it worked, but you need a different port and not with common providers (e.g. Vultr, Hetzner, etc... all blocked). Fiddling with Jc/min/max helps too. If you don't set any of those parameters, then Amnezia falls back to standard WireGuard which does *not* work.
